Tyrion Lannister returned King's Landing to succeed his father as Hand of the King (after Ned Stark's death this post was given to Tywin Lannister). Tywin was busy fighting Robb Stark who had defeated him in three battles. Cersei does not like Tyrion's presence but anyway, he has to accept it. Tyrion took his girlfriend, Shae, to King's Landing and made her a Sansa waiter. But no one knows Shae's identity unless Bronn is the same as Varys.
Meanwhile Robb Stark, who had wanted to save his father from the death penalty, diverted his plan to take revenge on Joffrey. With Jaime Lannister in his hands, Robb is so up in the wind. But Robb is confused to whom he will ally, Renly Baratheon or Stannis Baratheon? Yes, Stannis was entitled to Iron Throne because he was the legitimate successor after learning that Joffrey was not the son of Robert Baratheon. But Renly who is Stannis's younger brother also wanted the same throne. He even already has 100ribu troops. Renly is known to have married Margaery from House Tyrell, the sister of Loras Tyrell-her partner Renly. Yes Renly same enthusiast so she married Margaery just for imaging.
Robb was later declared King in the North by his troops and bannermans. He sends three conditions to Queen Cersei if they want Jaime to be released. The three conditions are, to free Sansa and Arya, to send Ned Stark's bones to him to be buried in Winterfell's underground tomb, and to release the claims of the Northern territory that made him an independent kingdom. But Cersei refused all the conditions. Robb himself already guessed it.
Theon Greyjoy volunteered to meet his father, Greyjoy Balloon, in the Iron Islands and ask him for help in the form of a ship to attack the King's Landing. But Catelyn refused it because the Greyjoy clan was famous for the traitorous nation. He also warned Robb not to trust them. But Robb keeps releasing Theon into Iron Islands while Catelyn is sent to Storm's End to negotiate with Renly Baratheon.
At Storm's End, Catelyn meets Lord Baelish who offers an exchange between his two daughters with Jaime Lannister but Catelyn says if Robb will not agree. Baelish then gives Cedy Ned Stark bones and says if it's good faith from Queen Cersei to make peace.
Renly and Stannis's mediated negotiations Catelyn did not reach a deal making Stannis use magic from his pastor, Melisandre, to kill Renly in his tent. Renly's death made a split on his troops. Loras Tyrell accused Brienne-Kingsguard of beating him in battle-as the one who killed Renly. Brienne herself escaped with Catelyn to Robb's camp. He devotes himself to Catelyn and vows to take revenge on Renly's death to Stannis.
At Robb's camp, Jaime murdered the son of a bannerman named Karstark when Robb was in negotiations with the Crag family who was willing to surrender and ask for the drugs Talisa Maegyr needed, the medics at Robb's camp. Robb himself fell in love with the Volantis girl when he was bound by a promise to marry Walder Frey's son who opened the bridge during the war at the Riverlands against Lannister. Robb was furious when he found out Catelyn freed Jaime to be exchanged with Sansa and Arya without asking for Robb's consideration first.
Jaime was taken to King's Landing by Brienne in exchange for Sansa and Arya. In the middle of their journey several times meet with people who want the life of Jaime as well but Brienne managed to beat them.
Meanwhile, Theon who sent Robb to ask for help in the form of a ship to Greyjoy Balloon betrayed him by attacking Winterfell whose powers delegated to Bran. Bran was forced to surrender Winterfell to Theon who had already considered The Starks as part of them. Bran's sad words when he asked Theon, "Have you been holding a grudge against us?": '(So it used to be that the house of Greyjoy rebelled then attacked the same house Stark and Balloon threw Theon which Ned Stark then brought to Winterfell As a prisoner, but a prisoner who is considered a family not like Sansa in King's Landing or Jaime in camp Robb Stark.I swore at that time I hate the Theon.Although it is allegedly from the beginning of his face that pantesnya be antagonist rather than protagonist.Allegedly also if he would be Traitors Well, but thanks to Osha-wildling who served in Winterfell-Bran and Rickon managed to escape from the castle.
The news of Theon's betrayal reached the ears of Robb Stark and Catelyn. It broke Robb's concentration between having to go to the South (King's Landing) or to the North (Winterfell). Jon Snow himself was going beyond-the-wall with Lord Commander Mormont and hundreds of Night's Watch members to find out what happened there. Why his uncle Benjen never returned to The Wall. They had stopped at the Craster house, the wildlings who married their own daughters and sacrificed their sons to the White Walkers. The Night's Watch troops were expelled from the Craster house because Jon was considered to be too interfering with his family. They walked back beyond the wall to meet Qhorin Halfhand, a longtime Night's Watch member. Qhorin then invited several Night's Watch troops to infiltrate the Wildling. Jon Snow volunteered to join. They meet some Wildling and kill them except one who turns out to be female, Ygritte. Jon Snow and Ygritte apart from Qhorin Halfhand and his friends. However Jon Snow was later caught by more Wildling flocks. So did Qhorin, while their other friends were killed by Wildling. Qhorin ordered Jon Snow to kill him so that the Wildlings believed that Jon had violated his oath as a member of Night's Watch and infiltrated the Wildlings forces led by Mance Rayder. Meanwhile, Jon's friends Sam, Grenn, and Edd return to The Wall. Sam meets thousands of White Walkers who are heading for The Wall.
Arya who in the first season joined Yoren's group from Night's Watch to be brought back to Winterfell captured by Lannisters forces who wanted bastard life of Robert Baratheon, Gendry. But they were not able to kill him because Arya said that Gendry had been killed by them. Yoren himself died at the hands of the Lannisters. In the midst of the Lannisters attack, Arya rescued 3 people in a cage that was almost burned. One of them is Jaqen H'gar. Arya, Gendry, and his surviving friends were taken to Harrenhall to be executed by The Mountain, The Hound's sister, Joffrey's guard. Confused right? Hehehe.
When Gendry was about to die, Tywin came and ordered his men to stop the death penalty. The prisoners were used Tywin Lannister to do the talent they have. Gendry used as a blacksmith, Hot Pie became a waiter in the kitchen, while Arya as waiter Tywin Lannister. Tywin himself knows that Arya is actually a girl but she does not recognize him as Arya Stark. The Arya disguise was almost known when Lord Baelish came along and offered Tywin an alliance with Tyrell's house who wanted revenge on Stannis.
Jaqen H'gar asked 3 names to be sacrificed to the Red Gods on Arya because he had saved 3 lives when the fire nearly consumed Jaqen and his two friends. Arya pronounces the name of the man who sentenced him to death and the Lannister who almost reported to Tywin about the letter Arya stole. At the time Tywin was about to fight against Robb Stark, Arya mentioned Tywin Lannister's name to Jaqen, but he could not do it. Then Arya asks Jaqen to free him and Gendry and Hot Pie escape from Harrenhall. Halfway after his escape, Jaqen meets Arya and invites him to Braavos where he came from. But Arya refused because she wanted to meet Robb and her mother. Jaqen then gave a coin to Arya and told him to say "Valar Morghulis" when meeting with the Braavos if one day he wanted to see Jaqen.
At King's Landing, Tyrion planned a war strategy against Stannis Baratheon's troops. On the day of the attack, Tyrion sent a wildfire in a ship to the lineup of boats belonging to Stannis troops which later detonated by Bronn caused the Stannis army to crash in the middle of the sea. But it turns out Stannis troops are still many and managed to land in Blackwater. Tyrion told The Hound and his troops to go out the gate and fight against Stannis's forces. But The Hound who is afraid of fire-due to a childhood trauma that was burned by his brother The Mountain and left a permanent wound on his face-backed away from the fight. He left Joffrey saying "F ** k The King". I swear I really like that moment. Just like, finally The Hound, finally! I know he was a good person after saving Sansa several times
Before Joffrey went to war, he asked Sansa to kiss his sword. After Joffrey left, Sansa had time to say, "Joffrey will not die. The worst will stay alive. "Bener wrote Sansa. Cersei ruled Lancel Lannister to take Joffrey away from the castle for his safety. Frightened Joffrey obeyed her mother's words. Joffrey's departure drove his troop morale. Hadeeeh when I want to see Joffrey dead sword drawn. Shhhhh. But Tyrion was able to regain his army and attack outside the gates. Outside, Tyrion's life was threatened when one of Kingsguard, Ser Mandon, cast a sword to his face, about to kill him. But Podrick, Tyrion's servant, managed to kill him. Then the Tyrian-led Lannisters came with Tyrell's troops. Well, Tywin is so handsome. As much as I hate The Lannisters, I can not hate Tywin. I dunno why.
Cersei, fearing the safety of his children, sat in the Iron Throne with Tommen. He almost gave his son Nightshade a liquid that could eliminate his life. He thought, Tommen would rather die in his hands than be killed by Stannis. When Tommen almost drank it, Tywin opened the door of the throne room and said that he won the war. Cersei spilled the Nightshade fluid and then hugged his son.
After the victory at Blackwater, Tywin really plays his role as Hand of the King. Lord Baelish was awarded Harrenhall for his service of uniting Lannister and Tyrell. Margaery Tyrell will be married to Joffrey while Sansa is off to marry the cruel King (thank God!). While Tyrion was transferred to a sort of prisoner.
Btw, I love the episode 9 cover song. It's the national anthem The Lannisters. In this second season several times the song Rains of Castamere in singing by Lannisters forces. Even Bronn joined me to sing it.
