Robb Stark's group continued on to Harrenhal hoping they find Lannister's troop led by The Mountain but the castle had been abandoned by The Lannisters and had only the remains of their captives. Though Arya just run away from it. Errrrr ... .. Robb rescues a maester with open wounds on his neck and is treated by Talisa Maegyr who has become his wife.
Robb gets a letter from Riverrun and Winterfell which both contain bad news. At Riverrun, his grandfather Hoster Tully passed away. While Winterfell was burnt by Ironborn and Theon disappeared. The next day Robb and Catelyn were accompanied by Lord Karstark going to Riverrun to attend the funeral of Hoster Tully. While Roose Bolton remains in Harrenhal.
When traveling to Riverrun, Lord Karstark had said to Robb that he already lost the war on Robb's day married Talisa. But Robb ignores it. On the same trip Lady Catelyn is the same cold Talisa-because the girl has made Robb reneged on her promise to marry Walder Frey's daughter-tells the story of Jon Snow.

Jon Snow himself was in Beyond-The-Wall being a Wildlings prisoner and taken to King-Beyond-The-Wall's tent, Mance Rayder. The Night's Watch group led by Lord Commander Mormont returned to Craster's house. There was an uprising by Night's Watch starving members who wanted more banquet than Craster. The rebels killed Craster and Lord Commander Mormont. Sam manages to escape with Gilly and her son. On the way they meet the White Walkers who want Gilly's male son but Sam kills him with a Dragonglass he found at Beyond-The-Wall.
At Riverrun, an incident occurred when Lord Karstark unbeknownst to Robb, killing a childhood Lannisters prisoner as a form of revenge for the death of his son Jaime killed. Robb was angry with him and sentenced him to death. The Northern Army was divided by the incident. While Robb racked his brain to build his strength again by trying to reunite with The Freys. He asked his uncle, Edmure, to replace his position to marry Walder Frey's daughter that should have been married by Robb. The daughters of Walder Frey are well known for the reason that Edmure refuses. But slowly he agreed to Robb's request to win the war.
Meanwhile, Arya with Gendry and Hot Pie meet Brotherhood Without Banner troops led by Beric Dondarrion, former troops of Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon. They did not hurt Arya and they promised to bring Arya to her sister and mother in Riverrun. But Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie have to split up. Hot Pie was asked to be a waitress at a restaurant in Kingsroad (forgot what her name was, just where Joffrey was going to hurt Arya the first time she went to King's Landing). Gendry was bought by Melisandre because he had the noble blood that Stannis needed to kill his enemies. Gendry is his illegitimate son Robert Baratheon. Ahammered Arya with Brotherhood Without Banners fled after they delayed a trip to Riverrun to battle with Lannister. Arya was captured by The Hound who ran away from King's Landing also freed from Brotherhood Without Banners. The Hound brings Arya to The Twins where his sister and mother will attend Edmure's wedding with daughter of Walder Frey. The Hound's goodness is not without reason, he wants gold as a ransom from The Starks.
At King's Landing, Joffrey's decision to marry Margaery and break the engagement with Sansa did not necessarily make the Stark girl free. But Petyr Baelish who was awarded Lord of Harrenhal and married Jon Arryn's widow Lysa invited Sansa to go with him and promised to take him to Winterfell. But Sansa refused. Jaime and Brienne were taken to Harrenhall where Roose Bolton was. Roose orders his men to treat Jaime as a guest. Jaime is also treated by a maester rescued by Robb.
